CDA awards - October 2014

CDDG's highly successful show last year 'The Deep Blue Sea' has picked up the coveted Best Play and Best Director award at the CDA Awards 2014.

Congratulations to Cast and Crew for their success at the CDA awards which were held at the Hotel Bristol, Newquay on 25th October 2014.

John Frankland picked up Best Director. Special awards also were recieved for Magnificent Exhibition and Front of House Presentation (congratulations Sue Watson and Pam Furnish) and Sensitive interpretation of the part of Hester (congratulations Charlie Springthorpe).

 

The show had been nominated for Best Play, Best Director , Best Costumes (Veronica Spear) and Best Supporting Actor (Kath Archer).

 

The production was reviewed by both the Cornwall Drama Association (CDA) and NODA; click on the link below to read their respective reviews.

'The Deep Blue Sea' adds to our successful haul from the awards in the 2012 - 2013 competition where we picked up Best Costumes, Best 'Exit' (a special award - Richard Hope-Pears died brilliantly!), Best Director and runner up in the Best Play section for our production of Calendar Girls.
