From the Chair

I know it is a little odd, but I always think of our year as starting now, after the AGM, new committee, new members, new shows!

First up of course is George’s Marvellous Medicine. This one is going to be great fun. Mark Breach is directing for the first time with us. Make sure that you get your tickets and tell your friend as well.
Speaking of friends, I am organizing the front of house team and I still have some gaps to fill. It is Wednesday 27 to Saturday 30 with a matinee on the Saturday. All help gratefully received!

On behalf of the committee, thank you all for you continuing support CDDG.

Esther O’Bearagh

George’s Marvellous Medicine

‘George! Where’s my medicine? George! Where’s my tea? George! What are you doing?’

Grouchy Grandma has come to stay and is complaining all the time and spoiling George’s half term holiday.

He wants to read his adventure book quietly. What can he do to make his horrible Grandma nicer? She really is a bit of a witch. He’ll try and invent a wonderful medicine for her.

Come and see what happens at Perranarworthal Village Memorial Hall when we present Roald Dahl’s story of “George’s Marvellous Medicine” adapted for the stage by David Wood at half term, Wednesday 27th to Saturday 30th May at 7.00pm or the matinee at 2.30pm on the Saturday.

Alex Jones in the title role and is playing opposite Chris Breach as his horrible granny. Also in the cast are Jo Skeplorn, Bruce Austen and Pam Furnish as … well you’ll have to come and see.

Keep a careful eye on what George does because he will want you to help him remember the recipe when he needs to make a second batch of medicine after something pretty amazing happens. Watch out though - life on a farm can be very surprising!

You can get your tickets from our dedicated phone number 08454 500296

If the call goes to voicemail leave your details and the tickets you need, and your call will be returned. Tickets are £8 and £6(under 16).It is only a couple of weeks away now so get your tickets and tell all your friends.

Karnon Kidz Corner

Calling all Karnon Kidz

As you may be aware Joyce, Megan and I will be directing this year’s Christmas Show for Karnon Kidz. We are still looking at various plays and “A Christmas Wizard of Oz” is currently top of the list. However, we would like to share some of our ideas with you before making a final decision.

Sunday 28 June 2pm -5pm at PVH

We will be running a “workshop” where we will rehearse/read through various scenes from
“A Christmas WOZ”, “The Night Before Christmas”, “The Speed of Santa” and finally “Peace and Goodwill”.
This is not an audition they will be held later in the year but it is a chance for us all to have some fun, sing a few songs and do a bit of acting.

There is no need to book your place, just turn up on the day and bring any interested friends with you.
I look forward to seeing you all again very soon; Christmas is just around the corner.

Pam
