April 2015 the prompt- Abridged version

From the Chair

It is hard to believe that a whole year has passed since the last AGM, perhaps it is because we have had such a busy year and have put on such excellent shows, that the time has whizzed by. I am not going to recap the years triumphs here, I'll do that in my report at the AGM.

AGM 22nd April 7.00 for 7.30!!! Please put it into your diaries and come along. The nature of our group is that we rarely get a chance to all get together and talk. Your committee works hard on your behalf, but as always we need the support of our members to be sure that what we are doing is what you want done!

You will see some changes to the committee this year, Paul and Janet are standing down after many years of service to the group as Treasurer and Secretary respectively. I would take this opportunity to say that they have both been absolute stars, behind the scenes if not on the stage!! They have worked so hard for you all that I know that you will want to join me in expressing our thanks for their hard work. I would like to add my personal thanks for the total support that they have given me as Chairman, unstinting and unfailing. Moo and Kath are also stepping down, my thanks to both for their help over the past year as they have been responsible for the booking and looking at the website and trying to get more out of social media opportunities.

We hope to invite two new committee members on at the AGM as Colin Groom and Tracey Holmes have agreed to be nominated, but this does leave us short of members. Please ,Please, think about it!

Look forward to seeing you there

Karnon Kidz Corner

As you may be aware Joyce, Megan and I will be directing this year’s Christmas Show for Karnon Kidz. We are still looking at various plays but would like to share some of our ideas with you.
Sunday 28 June 2pm -5pm at PVH.

We will be running a “workshop” where we will rehearse/read through various scenes from some of the potential plays to see which we like best.
This is not an audition they will be held later in the year but it is a chance for us all to have some fun, sing a few songs and do a bit of acting.

There is no need to book your place, just turn up on the day and bring any interested friends with you.

I look forward to seeing you all again very soon; Christmas is just around the corner.....

Pam

Wedding Invitation

We have received the following invite from Paul and Linda Barker.

You may (or may not) be aware that our firstborn, Samantha, is marrying Samuel (who worked backstage for Oklahoma) at 1:30pm on Sunday the 24th May 2015 at Gwennap Church near Comford.

This is an open invitation to all her friends at both the Carnon Downs Drama Group and Karnon Kidz to come and share in the celebration at the church ceremony.
    Paul & Linda (Barker)

May I, on behalf of Carnon Downs Drama Group and Karnon Kidz thank Paul and Linda for their very kind invitation.  I am sure that there will be many of our members who will wish to attend, especially as Samantha has been such a stalwart supporter of ours, particularly of Karnon Kidz, with whom she has worked so tirelessly and for which we thank her most sincerely.  Ed:
